How One Glass of Water Can Help Change the World

At Global Sprouts, we believe small moments can spark big conversations. Sometimes that moment happens at the dinner table.

This summer, we’re partnering with Rucker Johns restaurants to help children learn about the world while also making a real impact through something incredibly simple: a glass of water.

Not Everyone Has Easy Access to Clean Water

For many families in the United States, turning on the tap for clean drinking water is something we rarely think about. But in some parts of the world, especially in rural communities across Africa, access to clean water can be incredibly difficult. Some children walk miles each day just to collect water for their families. In many cases, the water they bring home may not even be safe to drink.

Clean water changes everything.

When communities have reliable water sources, children can spend more time learning in school, families stay healthier, and villages are able to grow and thrive.

How QH2O Is Helping

That’s where QH2O (Quarters for Someone’s Water) comes in.

QH2O is a nonprofit organization that helps bring clean water systems to communities that need them most. Through partnerships and community support, they help fund water projects that make safe drinking water more accessible.

And sometimes, making a difference can start with something as small as a quarter.

How Your Family Can Help

This summer at participating Rucker Johns restaurants, guests are invited to contribute just one quarter per person per visit. Every quarter makes a difference — 100% of the funds collected go directly toward the designated water project, helping bring clean water to communities that need it most.

Learning About the World with Global Sprouts

Along with supporting QH2O, children dining at Rucker Johns will receive a Global Sprouts bookmark that introduces them to Africa.

Children can trace letters, learn fun facts, and discover something new about our world — all while sitting at the dinner table.

At Global Sprouts, our mission is to help raise globally curious, kind, and culturally aware children. We believe learning about other places, people, and traditions helps children grow into compassionate adults.

And sometimes, the best learning happens outside the classroom.

A Small Moment That Matters

When families talk about where water comes from, how other children live around the world, and how even small acts of kindness can help others, it creates meaningful conversations.

One glass of water.

One quarter.

One step toward a better future.

Thank you to Rucker Johns and QH2O for helping families turn an everyday moment into an opportunity to learn, give, and grow together.
