Meet the Sleepy Superstar of Costa Rica!

Meet the Sleepy Superstar of Costa Rica!

Did you know sloths are one of the slowest animals in the world? In Costa Rica, they love hanging out in the rainforest, munching on leaves, and taking lots of naps. Locals call them perezoso, which means "lazy," but we think they’re just extra chill!

Now your child can create their very own sleepy sloth friend with this easy and fun craft. It’s a great way to get hands-on while learning about wildlife and nature in Costa Rica.

What You’ll Need

  • Paint

  • Paintbrush

  • Glue

  • Scissors

  • Printable sloth and tree branch (just print and go!)

Ready to Create? Here’s How:

  1. Start by painting the sloth and the tree branch. Pick your favorite colors and let your creativity shine. Don’t forget to let them dry.

  2. Carefully cut out the sloth and the branch along the dotted lines.

  3. Add glue to the sloth’s arms and legs and stick them onto the branch so it looks like it’s holding on tight.

  4. Let the glue dry completely, then your sloth is ready to hang out!

Learning Can Be an Adventure

While your child is creating their very own sloth, take a moment to explore the rainforest together. What other animals might be hiding in the trees? What sounds do you think you’d hear in Costa Rica?

Sloths are gentle and quiet, and they remind us to slow down and enjoy every part of the journey.
